PlanetJune Christmas CAL
There is a new CAL going on! Anyone who's been following my blog for a while knows how much I love CALs. Love to watch lots of people make the same things and see how everyone makes it different, plus it gives me extra motivation to make something that's not my own. A kick in the butt, you might say :) Now it's time to make Christmas stuff. Yay, my favorite holiday!
June has been somewhat disappointed by all the people who's taken advantage of her CAL discounts and then never finished anything, so this time it will be a little different. She has several Christmas patterns, some of which are free, and we are free to choose which ones to make. One or all of them :) Then, after the CAL ends on Christmas Eve, the participants can win prizes! Gift certificates and/or free patterns, I think :) Read more about the rules HERE.
I plan to make a Christmas tree or two, as soon as I've finished a few holiday patterns of my own :)

CALs and give-aways and stuff
First of all, I really need to thank Greenpixey for the lovely prize I won from her give-away in July. Thank you! What I won was a little heart shaped tin of mint candy to give to my boyfriend :)
Also in the package was a surprise that I decided was just for me :p A yummy bar of milk chocolate! It was gone within minutes, hihi :)
The package arrived several weeks ago, but I waited to post about it since the mints were going to be a surprise, and I'm not sure whether my bf reads my blog or not. And then, of course, I forgot... I remembered to post about it now because my boyfriend came home from the library the other day and gave me the empty tin to keep little treasures in :)
I'm currently participating in another give-away that (hopefully) has not ended yet. At Artikaur's blog you can enter to win a ball of pretty blue crochet/tatting thread:
I think the give-away will end in a few hours (some time after midnight in my time). Hope I win - my thread stash is not big enough yet! Perhaps it never will be...? :p
So, the CALs... Well, I never got any further on my alpaca for PlanetJune's summer CAL :( I feel really bad that I got the pattern cheaper than I normally would, and then I never had time to make it... The CAL has now ended, and you can see all the finished alpacas and violets HERE.
Finally, there's a new CAL that's just about to start - a halloween themed fall CAL at Itsy Bitsy Spider (who also hosted the Great Owl CAL earlier). This time we're making pumpkins :)
We are to decorate the pumpkins however we want, and at the end there will be a contest with a prize. Whoever makes the coolest pumpkin wins! I have to concrete ideas for my pumpkin yet, but I'll come up with something as I crochet along :)

The name of my new pattern is...
Cute Little Dudes! Meet the Forest Dwellers:
There wasn't exactly a overwhelming response to the naming contest in my previous post, only two comments in two days.. The first suggestion kind of stuck with me, because calling them something with "dudes" had already crossed my mind a few times, but I just couldn't get it right. (Now, "Huggies" is not at all a bad suggestion, I like that name a lot, and I might make something of it some day. Something cute and cuddly.) So congratulations to jucatca for coming up with the name, a copy of the pattern will be e-mailed :D
I suppose I can't really blame people for not noticing the contest, it was badly advertized since it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, and I guess most people can't be bothered to read all the way to the end of my sometimes very long blog posts (and very long sentences!)... Next time I'll do better, I promise :)
Anyway, the pattern will be added both to my Etsy shop and Ravelry store some time tonight. Hope you like the Cute Little Dudes :)

Congratulations to the both of you :D

Great Big Bumblebee pattern & more
I managed to finish the patterns sooner than I thought (I e-mailed the documents to my aunt who converted them to PDF and sent them back to me), so I actually listed the Bumblebee pattern yesterday. And I've made a sale already, can you believe that? I almost don't :D You find my Etsy shop HERE.
Oh, I forgot to mention in the post yesterday that the body of the bumblebee is brushed to make it furry and fuzzy and cute like a real bumblebee :) The pattern is actually based on the Buff-tailed Bumblebee, which is the most common species in Europe.
I edited my old Kitty Princess pattern and relisted it.
Also, both patterns are now found in my new Ravelry store :) I decided to try it because selling patterns on Ravelry is a little cheaper than Etsy, since there's no listing fee...
One final thing... I really could use some help with this, both me and my boyfriend are stuck trying to come up with a name for this pattern set:
The pattern is as good as ready, I just need a name for the little creatures. Now, I feel like I can't call them critters, because that would make them too similar to CraftyAlien's very cute knitted & felted ones. Calling them Something-something Friends also seems a little used... They are fairly small, with a flat bottom that allows them to sit up straight, and fit perfectly in you hand:
I plan to make a lot more of these sets, and not only forest animals, so I need a general name for all of them, and then the individual sets will have more specific names added to that. *sigh* Hate it when I'm stuck like this...
Ooh, I just had an idea... If I get any suggestions (as comments to this post), the winning suggestion will win a free copy of this pattern! I have a few thoughts myself, but I'm still undecided, so you have a fair chance of your name suggestion being picked :D (If I come up with a name myself you can still get the pattern from one of my stores..)

Big contest!
Mia Bengtsson has a big contest on her blog, where you can win this great prize:
Both of her amigurumi books (the 2nd book is released in June), a big pile of yarn and a handful pairs of safety eyes, a bag of poly pellets, a bag of brads & buttons etc., a couple of crochet hooks and a stuffing tool. Everything you need to make amigurumis :)
The winner will be drawn on May 17th, which, by the way, is the national day of Norway, so I hope I win :) There will even be five other prizes in this contest, plus a second contest for the same package as described above for people who have pre-ordered the new amigurumi book already.
Good luck, people :D

Contests, give-aways & challenges :)
There seems to be a lot of contests and give-aways these days, and I thought I'd advertise for some of them :)
If you want to win one of these birds, leave a comment on her post for one ticket, link to her blog in your right sidebar for two tickets, and become a follower for three tickets. The contest ends on March 7th.
Sarah London has a mystery give-away where you can win a whole bag full of yarn! Isn't that great? The contest ends this Friday, the 26th. Here is a picture I borrowed from her blog:
Thessan's Amigurumi celebrates 7000 visitors, and a lucky winner gets to adopt this very cute crocheted wiener dog, just leave a comment on the post before Friday at 6pm. Link from your blog to get a second ticket. Thessan's picture of Werner the wiener dog:
Finally, Ulliga Gulliga Saker has a contest/give-away with a twist. It's a challenge to try out a whole new hobby, or to pick up an old one that you haven't done for a while. I thought I'd take up needle felting. I have tried it before, but my needles have been rusting away in a bag somewhere for a few years now. Needle felting is a good way to make details on knitted and crocheted items, a good substitute from freehand embroidery, which I suck at :p Anyway, the challenge ends on March 1st. Leave a comment on her post and let her know what you have tried out, and you can win these pretty scrap-booking supplies:

Contest! :)
Just posting a link here, to a contest by Mia Bengtsson on her blog. You can win her book, Virka Amigurumi ("Crochet Amigurumi"), and some other stuff :) I'm excited to see if I win anything.. I already have her book, but I know a few people who would love the book as a Christmas present :)
Well, I guess that was all, really. I'm still working on my alien boy, but new ideas keep popping up and distract me. In a good way, of course, I like to have ideas, even though it can be a bit much sometimes...
